Romans 5:19 For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous. (NKJV)

In the Greek, the phrase “old things” refers to the origin—where something comes from. Our original lineage, our origin, is from Adam. Through Adam came sin, death, and the curse. We were once under the reign of Adam, but the Word says that the old has passed away. That origin, that identity under Adam, has ended. All the curses, all the failures, all the pain associated with Adam’s fall—they have passed away. Today, because of Christ, we no longer live under those times. We do not have the old—we have the new. Amen. Adam brought death and everything that came with it: sickness, shame, fear, and condemnation. But Jesus, the Son of God, came—not to restore but to give us an entirely new life. When you are born again, you are not a repaired or upgraded version of your old self—you are a brand-new creation. Amen!
